Sound Films is working closely with Johnny ‘Sticky’ Budden, a UK parkour runner who is undertaking the Herculean task of free running all the way from John O’ Groats to Paris in an effort to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
In this never-before-attempted combination of extreme urban gymnastics and pure endurance, Johnny will be running a marathon a day while at the same time jumping, flipping, and somersaulting though the major cities en route.
This event has already been featured in The Observer Magazine, The Metro, and featured in a TV spot on France’s Canal+. We are looking to make this a branded interactive experience, integrating a platform that allows the audience to choose the routes and obstacles the Johnny jumps, along with live tracking so that other free runners can join him for part of the route.
Working with sportsmen at the top of their game always makes for an explosive shoot. Our last commercial for Pepsi featured footballer Fernando Torres, which you can see here:
We are very excited at the prospect of documenting Johnny’s event with the film it deserves, and are currently discussing ’1000 Miles Parkour’ with talented filmmakers from around the world, working to determine the form it will take.
Below you can watch Johnny talk about the task ahead. You can donate at Johnny’s official website.
