Sound Films has produced several award winning short films including ‘Hibernation’ which has screened in over a 1000 cinemas globally and been described by Screen International’s editor Michael Gubbins, ‘As one of the most moving and powerful films I have ever seen’. Sound Films has been awarded development funding for two feature film projects with directors John Williams and Michael Yanny.
Andy escaped a career in law to work in film, TV and digital production. Andy’s graduation film was screened on ITV and its success led to him being awarded a 12 month production scholarship with ITV. Andy then worked on the development and production of prime time programmes for Carlton TV, LWT, Flawless Media, Brighter & Lion TV. Andy continues to work with emerging film talent and freelances as a commercials and digital content producer.
Michael’s animation background gives him a special touch for comic timing and visual style to his storytelling. At BBC and Channel 4 he established himself as an award winning director with his iconic band idents running on E4 for over three years. Now with Sound Films he won an award from PAPA Productions to direct the short film ‘Ali and the Lamp’ and develop his debut feature film.
John is an imaginative director with experience in live action, animation and visual effects. His films continue to win major awards across the globe from The Young Directors Award at The Cannes Lions to winning the LA shorts drama award for Paraphernalia’ . His powerful drama ‘Hibernation’ won at festivals including Prague, Zagreb, Edinburgh, Manhattan, Aspen, Rhode Island & Clermont Ferrand. This year John was invited onto C4 Coming up scheme where he directed the black comedy ‘Magic’ starring Jane Horrocks and Perry Benson.
